Battleship North Carolina In Wilmington
Moored in quiet dignity and majesty, across the river from downtown Wilmington and just 42-minutes south on I-40 from River Landing, the Battleship North Carolina beckons visitors to walk her decks. For a couple of hours, visitors can envision the daily life and fierce combat her crew faced in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.
Cowan Museum Of History And Science
Located on just the other side of Duplin County, the Joann Cowan Brown Botanical Garden is part of the ecoEXPLORE program! Founded in 1981 by George and Ila Cowan as a memorial to their daughter, the museum is housed within the Kelly-Farrior House (ca. 1848) and has an adjacent historical park with 6 buildings, which include a log cabin, general store, and a tobacco barn. Also on the grounds is a botanical garden with approximately 90 species of commercially-available native plants in what has become the region’s first free, public native-plant-focused botanical landscape garden. Admission is free to all and is ADA accessible.
Carolina Strawberry Festival
Just a few miles from the front gate of River Landing is downtown Wallace, NC, home of the Carolina Strawberry Festival. Held annually each May, it is an exciting weekend event that includes live entertainment, food trucks, a beer & wine garden, a Little Miss pageant, eastern North Carolina BBQ, a children’s area, and of course, every type of strawberry delight one can imagine including fresh strawberries from the field!
Down East Wood Ducks
Established in 2017, The Down East Wood Ducks are a Minor League Baseball team of the Carolina League and the owned-and-operated Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Calling Grainger Stadium in Lenoir County home, they regularly play to a capacity crowd of 4,100 fans. With a grandstand, box seats, and a Mother Earth Brewery pavilion in right field, a night at the ballpark is a great time for all!

From active lifestyles with plenty of watersports, outdoor health and wellness activities, to friendly community gatherings, there’s never a shortage of something happening year-round in Wrightsville Beach.
