Creative Quilt Enthusiasts Bring Home The Ribbon

October 14, 2019

From September 25 – September 27 the Asheville Quilt Guild hosted the 38th Annual Quilt Show at the WNC Agricultural Center.

The Asheville Quilt Guild is a group of 300+ quilting enthusiasts from around western North Carolina that exists to:

  • Preserve the mountain heritage of quilting

  • Be a source of information and inspiration for quilters

  • Encourage excellence in quilting and related arts

  • Be of service to the community

  • Provide fellowship to people with a common interest

This year the Creative Quilt Enthusiasts group from River Landing entered their piece ‘1604 – Modern Interpretation of Dear Jane’ and were awarded an Honorable Mention ribbon! The quilt was judged on the following categories: Visual Impact, Construction, Borders & Sashing, Quilting Design, Quilting Technique, and Finishing Techniques. 1604 received 4 Very Good ratings and 3 Good ratings.

If you are interested in joining the Creative Quilt Enthusiasts group at River Landing, just show up at the Fitness Center on the 4th Monday of each month at 10:30am. There is plenty of room for more creative residents!
